If you’re bored of traveling the same old roads and want to discover somewhere new, RoadHuntr has answered all your driving needs.
The online database features some of the best driving roads in the world, powered by users who can submit, vote or leave opinions on their favourite roads.
Each post from around the world highlights the length in kilometres and the duration, plus, users can vote on scenery, twistiness, traffic, road surface, visibility and places to eat.
With these results, an ‘Epic’ rating is given – where the higher the percentage, the more likely it will be recommended. For example, Lyell Highway in Tasmania has been rated 93 per cent.
The brain behind it is Australian, Jeremy Blazé, who designed and developed the website with a passion to find new roads.
“I’ve always been one to enjoy a weekend drive, and a hot topic of conversation between myself and friends was often the best driving roads around Melbourne. The idea came fairly organically from that,” said Blaze.
RoadHuntr isn’t just for cars, though.
“We haven’t forgotten about motorbike riders or cyclists – when you sign up, you’ll be asked to choose your preferred mode of transport, and roads will be scored differently for each mode,” Blaze said.
It is still a relatively new catalogue, only being launched on December 1, 2016, so Blazé is encouraging anyone who knows of a great road, to sign up and enter it, to make it grow into the go-to place for adventurous drivers and riders.
“Future plans for RoadHuntr include a road trip planning tool, where you can plan routes to share with other drivers (or riders) along with heaps of other features to make road discovery easier,” Blaze added.
