2017 Honda HR-V pricing and specs: Navigation now standard, safety kit unchanged
The lightly-updated 2017 Honda HR-V range has been announced, with first examples arriving in dealerships in the coming weeks.
Headlining the MY17 update is the addition of a new 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation across the entire range, addressing a key gap in the small SUV’s equipment list.
The new system does not, however, offer Apple CarPlay or Android Auto smartphone mirroring technology – something a growing amount of competitors are offering.
Despite the addition of satellite navigation as standard equipment, there are no price rises across the range for the HR-V, which continues to kick-off from $24,990 before on-road costs.
Meanwhile, active safety systems like autonomous emergency braking (AEB) remain standard from the VTi-S and up, leaving the entry-level VTi without the safety equipment, while forward collision warning, lane departure warning and active high-beam assist continue to be reserved to the flagship VTi-L with ADAS pack.
As before, the entire HR-V line-up is powered by a 1.8-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine, developing 105kW of power and 172Nm of torque, sending drive exclusively to the front wheels via a continuously-variable transmission (CVT).
Claimed fuel consumption is 6.6L/100km on the combined cycle.
It’s only a week after Honda Australia confirmed an update for the HR-V was “coming soon”, while a mid-life facelift is due in 2018.
The updated HR-V range is on sale now.
2017 Honda HR-V pricing (plus on-road costs)
VTi – $24,990
VTi-S – $27,990
VTi-L – $33,340
VTi-L with ADAS – $34,340
