2018 Citroen C3 Aircross revealed by leaked model
The styling of the new Citroen C3 Aircross has been revealed ahead of schedule, thanks to a leaked image of a scale model.
The image you seen here was originally found on a French forum and republished by AutoWeek.nl.
When it is released to the market, the C3 Aircross will replace the C3 Picasso, which was never sold in Australia.
With customers in Europe preferring crossover vehicles to people movers, many brands are abandoning the more practical body style in favour of the pseudo-off-roaders.

And the PSA Group has been among those leading the charge, with the second-generation Peugeot 3008 a prime example. The upcoming Peugeot 2008 will make a similar shift.
Under the skin, the Citroen C3 Aircross will use the same platform as the Opel Crossland X, which replaced the Meriva mini-people mover with its unique-to-the-class suicide doors.
Like the Crossland X, the C3 Aircross is expected to only be offered with front-wheel drive. Motivation will come from a selection of turbocharged petrol and diesel engines.
The C3 Aircross was last spied in early 2016 wearing significant amounts of camouflage.
If the leaked scale model is accurate, the C3 Aircross won’t look a world removed from the C-Aircross Concept at this year’s Geneva motor show.
The crossover will also share many styling cues with its larger C5 Aircross sibling. These include a slim set of driving lights integrated the grille, disguised main headlamp units mounted further down the front fascia, and plenty of grey lower body cladding.

Australia
The C3 Aircross is expected to make its debut later this year, maybe at or before the Frankfurt motor show in September. It’s not clear if it will be offered in Australia.
In Australia, the Peugeot, Citroen and DS brands are in a state of flux, with Inchcape taking over distribution rights from June 1, 2017. The importer, which also handles Subaru, has been tasked with “[growing] the presence of the Peugeot and Citroen brands in Australia”.
