Nissan and Mitsubishi announce shared parts and accessories warehousing in Australia

Nissan Australia and Mitsubishi Australia have this week announced the establishment of a joint local parts and accessories logistics and warehousing operation.

The new ‘National Parts Distribution Centre’ will be one of the country’s largest automotive logistics facilities when construction finishes by December this year, measuring more than 36,000 square metres.

Located in Truganina, Melbourne, about a 45-minute drive from the CBD, the new warehouse will be the main hub for Nissan and Mitsubishi’s national distributor network, while also servicing the Renault and Infiniti brands – as they are both also part of the Renault-Nissan Alliance.

“This collaboration has opened the door to many important synergies, including the sharing of parts storage, distribution and logistics here in Australia,” said Richard Emery, managing director and CEO of Nissan Australia.

“This is an important investment with many benefits for our respective customers and dealers.”

Meanwhile, CEO of Mitsubishi Motors Australia, Mutsuhiro Oshikiri, said: “We are pleased it will assist us to achieve greater efficiency through cooperation with our local alliance partner, Nissan Australia, to deliver a better service to our respective customers”.

The joint warehouse has been designed to achieve a six-star Green Star rating, the highest level of certification awarded by the Green Building Council for sustainable building design.
