2018 BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo gets the M Performance treatment

The recently-revealed 2018 BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo has been the latest recipient of the company’s M Performance makeover, with an array of sporty enhancements revealed for the new liftback this week.

Available from the vehicle’s overseas market launch, which is scheduled for November, the 6 Series Gran Turismo will be offered with numerous cosmetic upgrades and a sports exhaust system.

Headlining the upgrades is the M Performance exhaust silencer system (above), available for both the 630i and 640i.

The stainless steel silencer, according to BMW, gives the 6 Series GT “a truly impressive acoustic and visual dimension”, and is offered with either round or trapezoidal tailpipe finishers, trimmed in chrome or carbon-fibre – depending on “engine type and equipment”.

Also available with the new 6 Series Gran Turismo are 21-inch BMW M Performance light alloy wheels, featuring a two-level double spoke design and bi-colour finish.

The wheels are wrapped in 245/35 R21 tyres at the front and wider 275/30 R21 rubber at the rear.

Other M Performance upgrades on offer include a sport braking system, high-gloss black finish for the front grille, and carbon-fibre mirror caps (above).

Finally, the 6 Series GT will also be available with an M Performance sports steering wheel, trimmed in alcantara and nappa leather, featuring a red marking at the 12 o’clock position and paddle shifters.

Australia

The 2018 BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo is set to make it to local showrooms in the fourth quarter of 2017, launching solely in 630i trim for the time being.

BMW has previously said it is determining the specifics of its 6 Series Gran Turismo offering for Australia. The company has also confirmed these latest enhancements are also on that list of considerations.
