The facelifted 2018 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet has been teased in a new video ahead of its debut at the Frankfurt motor show next month.

Following the updated S-Class limousine range, the convertible version is expected to get similar upgrades, though obviously with the sexier two-door body sans roof.

Exterior changes should include revised head- and tail-light treatments – including updated LED signatures for the running lights and tail-light clusters – along with revised bumpers front and rear.

Going by the 30-second clip, the roof may be a focus for the updates – perhaps quicker open/close times – while the limited views of the interior don’t reveal much other than the S-Class Cabriolet will remain as leather-clad and opulent as ever.

Other changes are likely to mirror that of the limousine range, which includes the availability of new Multibeam LED headlights, upgraded dual-12.3-inch displays for the driver’s instruments and infotainment system, a new steering wheel with touch-sensitive controls, along with enhanced autonomous driving functions – such as auto lane changing and remote parking.

In terms of engine range, it’s likely the new S560 badge will adorn the boot of the convertible, and eventually the coupe as well – featuring a 345kW/700Nm version of the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 found under the bonnet of most of the new Mercedes-AMG range.

Speaking of Mercedes-AMG, we can expect updated versions of both the AMG S63 and AMG S65 to debut in Frankfurt as well, with the former getting an uprated 450kW 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, replacing the bi-turbo 5.5-litre unit in the current car.
