Just last month, Koenigsegg took the Agera RS on something of a record-breaking spree in Nevada. Having become the world’s fastest production car, the twin-turbocharged Swede set about breaking the 0-400-0km/h record it had already stolen from Bugatti just a month before on a closed section of road.

Koenigsegg celebrated the new speed record by posting a video of the run, shot on a camera mounted behind the windscreen and overlaid with verified data from Racelogic. But there was something (or someone) crucial missing from the frame: driver Niklas Lija.

The latest video to appear from the company rectifies that oversight, giving two perspectives on the driver during the car’s run to 284mph (457km/h) on a closed stretch of Nevada highway.

Lija looks remarkably unruffled as the speedo climbs, adjusting his belts and helmet between zero and 150km/h, before putting both hands on the wheel. Barring what appears to be a bit of a bumpy ride, the car tracks dead straight and doesn’t break traction along the way – impressive, given it’s putting a monstrous 865kW of power and 1280Nm of torque to the rear wheels.
