VW Amarok recalled for steering fix
Volkswagen Australia has recalled the MY17 and MY18 Amarok over concerns a poorly fitting clip could damage the power steering return hose.
According to the company, the damaged hose could cause a hydraulic fluid leak, which in turn can create a loss of power steering assistance. The car’s handling is affected if the power steering fails, heightening the risk of accident.
A total of 6307 cars is affected by the recall – a list of the included VIN numbers is here.
Volkswagen will contact owners of the affected vehicles, and tell them to contact their nearest dealer for a fix.
Concerned owners can call Volkswagen Customer Care on 1800 607 822 for more information.
