Mercedes-Benz UK has launched the E300de plug-in hybrid in both sedan and wagon variants, adding diesel-electric power to its large car line-up. First previewed in March at the Geneva motor show, the E300de pairs a 145kW/400Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel with a 91kW/440Nm electric motor and 13.5kWh battery system. System torque output is rated at a beefy 700Nm, while 0-100km/h is dispatched in just 5.9 seconds (6.0 seconds for the Estate).
