Jaguar has broken yet another record, this time for the ‘fastest towed speed on skis’.

The 2018 Jaguar XF Sportbrake was used as the tow vehicle as former British Olympic skier, Graham Bell, donned the skis.

Guinness World Records was present as it recorded an average top speed of 189km/h, smashing the previous record by 76km/h.

The record was undertaken at Jaguar Land Rover’s Revi Test Centre in the Arctic Circle, at a freezing -28-degrees.

Adaptive Surface Response and All Surface Progress Control helped the all-wheel-drive Jaguar XF keep a grip on the slippery surface. Its 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 petrol engine can be heard towards the end of the video, producing 221kW of power and 700Nm of torque, taking 5.3-seconds to reach 96km/h (60mph)

“I’m proud to have achieved this Guinness World Records title, but it was a real team effort with the engineers at Jaguar supporting me every step of the way,” Skier Graham Bell said.

“The XF Sportbrake stayed perfectly composed throughout and gave me the confidence to not only beat the target but smash it by a great margin,” Bell said.

This isn’t the first time Jaguar has broken records, either. In June an E-Pace broke the record for the ‘furtherest barrel roll in a production vehicle’.

Australian buyers will be able to get their hands on the Jaguar XF Sportbrake from November, with prices starting at $90,400 plus on-road costs.
