2018 Maserati Quattroporte pricing and specs

The updated 2018 Maserati Quattroporte range has arrived in Australia, with the Italian limousine kicking off at $209,990 before on-road costs.

Headlining the revised range is the availability of new technologies, an upgraded twin-turbo V6 petrol engine, and lightly revised styling.

There’s new full-LED headlights up front with adaptive beams, soft-closing doors, and electric power steering – which allows for the addition of new driver-assistance systems like adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, active blind-spot assist and traffic sign recognition.

Maserati has also added Integrated Vehicle Control (IVC), a new system that uses the stability control program to prevent loss of vehicle control – instead of just correcting, like lesser systems.

Quattroporte S variants get an upgraded version of the 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6, too, which has received a power and torque boost to 321kW and 580Nm respectively – the latter available from 2250rpm through 4000rpm.

Inside, there’s a new 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and can also be controlled via the new rotary dial located on the centre console.

Two new option packages are available for all grades bar the entry-level diesel variant, GranLusso and GranSport. The former offers a more plush package, while the latter gives the big sedan a more athletic edge.

Key features for the GranLusso package include 20-inch ‘Mercutio’ alloy wheels, black brake calipers, Zegna silk interior, wood trim for the steering wheel and gearshift, powered sun shades front and rear, quad-zone climate control, heated rear seats, Alcantara headlining, along with ventilated front seats.

Meanwhile, the GranSport trim adds 21-inch ‘Titano’ alloys, dual-cast brakes with red calipers, piano black interior trim, stainless steel sports pedals, 12-way electrically-adjustable front sports seats, unique front and rear bumpers, Alcantara headlining, and a gloss black front grille.

The Quattroporte remains available with four powertrain options: one turbo-diesel, two V6 twin-turbo petrols and a twin-turbo V8.

Outputs remain unchanged for all bar the aforementioned high-output V6 in the Quattroporte S, with the 3.0-litre turbo-diesel rated at 202kW/600Nm, the standard 3.0 twin-turbo V6 at 257kW/500Nm, and the 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 at 390kW/650Nm.

Maserati’s claimed 0-100km/h times for the Diesel, Quattroporte, S and GTS are 6.4, 5.5, 5.0 and 4.7 seconds respectively.

All models send drive to the rear wheels via an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, which includes a limited-slip differential.
