Our recent adventure to South Australia for the Adelaide Motorsport Festival – where we planned on racing our 1300hp Toyota 86 against a Formula One car – saw us sharing a pit bay area with two other race cars from GT Auto Garage. One of which happened to be one of the most incredible Mitsubishi Evolutions we have ever seen.

Aside from the fact it was made nearly entirely from carbon fibre, with around 800hp and weighing only 1000kg, it was one of the fastest sedans on the track.

Owner/driver Mick Sigsworth tells us that incredibly this vehicle started life as a regular road car, bought off the showroom floor as a completely stock standard white Evo 9 back in 2007.

We take a detailed look and chat to Mick about this incredible build in between sessions on the time attack circuit.

In case you thought this stunning carbon beauty was nothing more than a show pony, rest assured it certainly deserves its title as a true time attack build.

This Evo is the only vehicle ever to have won its class four years in a row at World Time Attack Challenge – no small feat considering the company this vehicle shares the track with.

Once a street car, the vehicle has been completely rebuilt from the ground up, featuring exposed carbon fibre everywhere you look.

Like what you see?

Well, in the near future, Mick tells us customers will be able to purchase pre-built race cars based on what he calls the ‘T1’ chassis, with configurations ranging from 600hp up to 900hp. More than enough to haul this very lightweight 1000kg piece of art to victory around nearly any tarmac circuit you might throw at it.

Some more detailed pictures are available in the gallery below, but may include some older outdated images from previous parts of the build.

The video at the top of this article has all the latest info.

Huge thanks to Mick Sigsworth for taking the time to show us this incredible build. You can follow the progress of the PMQ Evo here.
